Frequently Asked Questions

As a new client, we want to be sure that we are able to properly work through your training goals. The initial evaluation allows us to meet face to face, discuss history, goals, and create a training plan. Your trainer will use the information from this session to either book you an appropriate lesson package or recommend you out to a trusted trainer in the area who may be more equipped to handle your situation.

Please note that lesson prices DO NOT include the cost of training equipment. Basic training collars will range from $20-$50. If an E-collar is recommended, we will only use trusted, top of the line collars which typically range from $200-$300.

Of course not! 

We use a wide range of training equipment but we will never force you to use something you are not comfortable with. We hope, however, that you will trust your trainer to use their expertise to choose the most effective and appropriate tool for your situation. If there is ever something you are unsure of, we encourage you to ask your trainer as many questions as needed. We stand by our training tools and their ability to safely and successfully address behaviors. It is our mission to help you understand these tools and to have you love them as much as we do!

Not quite.

After your evaluation, your trainer will recommend a lesson package of 3, 6, or 10 lessons depending on the severity of your issues or number of training goals. If, however, you are not able to afford the package recommended or perhaps you'd like more lessons than suggested, we will do our best to find something that works for you while still realistically working toward your main training goals. 

We strive to offer our clients as many ways to adequately communicate with their dogs as possible - leash communication, verbal, food, and off-leash. No two dogs respond the same to any given tool and no two owners have the same strengths or capabilities. While we do not require you to use these tools, we highly recommend them (when appropriate). Prong collars and E-Collars are some of the most effective, reliable, humane, and transformative training tools in the industry. They empower owners to have a reliable loose leash walk and navigate through public spaces or to have a completely off-leash trained dog with the ability to communicate up to 1/2 a mile away. By using tools like these we are able to create clear means of communicating with our dogs and reliable behaviors. This gives you the opportunity to include your dog in more aspects of your life and allows greater freedom for both your dog AND you.

As the saying goes, nothing in life is guaranteed. With that being said, we have never worked with a dog that we could not help to some degree. Training is a group effort and while we do our best to help you, often times the results will only go as far as you let them. If you are not willing to  put in the work or follow your trainers instructions to change how you live with your dog, then your progress will reflect that.

We ask that your dog is of at least 10 weeks old and that they are up to date on all necessary vaccinations (for their age). We require rabies, bordetella, and distemper vaccines prior to starting lessons.

This is a fear we have heard time and time again, its totally normal! Training will NOT take away from your dogs personality. What you will find is that by providing more structure, clarity, and improved communication, your dogs confidence will skyrocket and nuisance behaviors will disapate. At their core they will still be the same dog you fell in love with; the main difference being that you now have a better understanding of their behaviors and how to manage them in a way that makes sense.

Once an evaluation has happened and your trainer has recommended a package, 50% of the training fees for your desired service must be paid in order to reserve your dog’s spot in training. The remaining 50% must be paid at the time services begin.

Lessons cancelled more than seven (7) days prior to scheduled appointment(s) will receive a fifty percent (50%) refund of the total anticipated cost of services as though they were fully rendered. Lessons cancelled within seven (7) days of scheduled training date will not be eligible for refund. We know how important your time is, and we want to be respectful of that. In turn, we ask that you are respectful of our time too!

Evaluation fees can be transferred to a new date (up to one time) if the reservation is canceled within 72 business hours. Otherwise, evaluation fees are non-refundable.
